M35 helmets were generally issued in the colour that was applicable to the intended unit, however during the course of the fighting variety of methods were used by troops to camouflage their helmets. Cloth covers of various styles and camouflage prints were manufactured, they were designed to fit the basic shape of the helmet. The camouflage differed in design depending on both the season and the terrain. The first helmet covers were introduced to the German armed forces in 1937, the first pattern helmet covers did not include loops for attaching foliage. However in 1942 all helmet covers were manufactured to include these cloth attachments on the front, sides, and rear. Waffen-SS Oak Leaf pattern (Eichenlaubmuster) was produced in two pattern types, A and B, or "ringed" and regular.

This is a M35 Oak leaf camouflage helmet cover, second pattern, based on the version used in World War 2. It is quality made of double sided camouflage fabric, is reversible with spring and autumn patterns. It has metal rocker clips with elastic pull string, and fabric foliage attachment loops. Designed to fit the standard M35 German helmet.
