The Kugelhandgranate ("ball hand grenade") was a model of a hand thrown, fragmentation grenade manufactured in Germany also known as Mod. 1913. The body of the grenade was made of cast iron, 8 mm thick, spherical shaped and externally segmented designed to produce between 70 and 80 fragments. It was used throughout the First World War, but was eventually phased out after the end of the war.

This is a Kugel hand grenade, a dummy replica model based on the type used during World War 1. It is made of wood, with a metal pin/ring, it is painted black with a metallic fuse, and shiny finish. These have been designed as props, they are completely safe dummy non-functioning grenades, and do not contain an explosive charge.

Military re-enacting, as training dummies, props for film makers or photographers, and make an nice addition to any militaria collection as a display item.
