Pickelhaube Metal Cuirassier Helmet - Prussian

Stock Status: Out of Stock

The Pickelhaube was a spiked helmet worn in the 19th and 20th centuries by the Prussian and German military, as well as firefighters, and the police force. In 1889 the elite forces in Prussian Cuirassier teams such as the K├╝rassier (Heavy Cavalry) and Sachsen (Saxon) Garde-Reiter were issued a metal helmet (K├╝rassier Metalhelme). This helmet was updated in 1897 with an improved design, one with a curved front visor, screw-posts for the chinscales, and was reduced in weight and bulk to make more efficient.

This is a metal Pickelhaube helmet replica, based on the version used by the Prussian elite. It is a quality reproduction, made of steel, brass and leather, is hand assembled, with all the correct fittings. It has a suspension system liner that is adjustable for one size fits most, with a chinstrap buckle, is full size and wearable.

The wappen features the Imperial Eagle of Prussia with "MIT GOTT FUR KOENIG UND VATERLAND" inscribed. The shell, peaks, chinstrap and liner of the helmet are made of steel. The chinscales, peak and wappen badge plate are made of solid brass with a polished finish. The chinstrap and liner are made of leather. The cockades are painted in the national colours and those of Prussia and Germany. Helmets may show minor signs of wear, tarnish or rust depending on stock.

Use during re-enactments, fancy dress, as a prop for films and TV, or add to your militaria collection as a great display item.
