The Iron Cross was a military decoration of the Kingdom of Prussia, and latter of Germany. The official criteria for the award was a single act of bravery in the face of the enemy, or actions that were clearly above and beyond the call of duty. It was issued in various grades divided into three main series. The Iron Cross 2nd often abbreviated as EK II or E.K.II. and was worn as standard from the second button of the tunic.

This is an Iron Cross Medal 2nd Class 1939 replica, based on the version from World War 2. A good quality reproduction, made of metal, it looks and feels like an original, with close attention to detail such as dates, and comes with the tricolour ribbon. The medal is reversible, with the Swastika 1939 on one side, and 1813 on the other. The medals are one piece construction, and comes with a with a D ring and a pin for ease of wearing and displaying.
