Pickelhaube Garde Spiked Helmet - German

Stock Status: In Stock

The Pickelhaube was a spiked helmet worn in the 19th and 20th centuries by the Prussian and German military, as well as firefighters, and the police force. The Garde Pickelhaube carried a distinctive swept-wing eagle Wappen (front plate), four basic patterns can be found on Garde Pickelhaube issued dependent upon the unit, and several levels of Eigentums-helm. The Garde Korps Pickelhaube was worn by troops in the Infantry, Train supply, Field and Foot Artillery, Mounted Rifle, Pioneer, and Eisenbahn.

This is a Pickelhaube Garde helmet replica, based on the version from the first world war era. It is a good quality hand assembled, with all the correct fittings, a suspension system liner that is adjustable for one size fits most, is full size and wearable. The wappen features the Imperial Eagle of Prussia with "MIT GOTT FUR KOENIG UND VATERLAND" inscribed, with a silver grade star marked "SUUM CUIQUE". The shell, peaks, chinstrap and liner of the helmet are made of real leather. The spike, rear spin, front peak edge and wappen badge plate are made of solid brass with a polished finish. The cockades are painted in the national colours and those of Prussia and Germany, made of pressed steel. Helmets may show minor signs of wear, tarnish or depending on stock.

Use during re-enactments, fancy dress, as a prop for films and TV, or add to your militaria collection as a great display item.
