History:
The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was a military decoration, one of the highest awards of Germany, second only to the Grand Cross. It was awarded for remarkable bravery in battle, successful military leadership, and also for other military contributions in a battlefield environment. German law prohibits the wearing of a swastika, so in 1957 the West German government authorised replacement Iron Crosses with an Oak Leaf Cluster which could be worn by World War II Iron Cross recipients.

Details:
This is an Knights Cross Medal, a Veterans replica based on the version from the World War 2 era. It is reproduction, made of metal, highly detailed, is double sided, with oak leaves 1939 on the front, 1813 on the back. The medals are single piece construction, with a front facing eyelet. Comes with a display tricolour ribbon.

Please Note:
The medal has some imperfections, and is the same size as an Iron Cross.

Uses:
Worn with a uniform or as part of a display, these medals are a great collectable.
