History:
Odin is a major God in Norse mythology and the ruler of Asgard. Odin is attributed with discovering the runes. In a sacrifice to himself, the highest of the Gods, he was hung from the world tree Yggdrasil for nine days and nights, pierced by his own spear, in order to learn the wisdom that would give him power in the nine worlds. Odin is a principal member of the Æsir and is associated with war, battle, victory and death, but also wisdom, magic, poetry, prophecy, and the hunt. Odin has many sons, the most famous of whom is Thor. The runic symbols translate to Odin with us, Hail the Gods.
