M42 German Helmet - Steel Replica - Green

Stock Status: In Stock

The M1942 design was a result of wartime demands, and manufacturing flaws were often observed in M1942 helmets made late in the war. The rolled edge on the shell was eliminated, creating an unfinished edge along the rim. This edge slightly flared out, along the base of the skirt. The elimination of the rolled edge expedited the manufacturing process and reduced the amount of metal used in each helmet. Decals were eliminated in 1943 to speed up production and reduce the helmet's combat visibility.

This is a M42 helmet, a replica based on the version used in World War 2. This reproduction comes complete with liner and all the correct fittings. The shell is made of steel, with rolled edges, makers stamp, and is painted green with a smooth finish. The liner band is made of metal, is secured with split pins and has chinstrap attachment loops. The inside liner and chinstrap are made of oxhide leather. It features a suspension system with an adjustable string. The chinstrap is coated black on the outside, has machined holes and a metal buckle for adjustment, and has two steel fasteners for attachment/detachment of the chinstrap. Item colour may vary in appearance to images displayed depending on stock.

Use during war games, airsoft/paintball, re-enactments, films, fancy dress/cosplay, or add to your militaria collection as a great display item.
