M31 Bread Bag w Carry Sling

The M31 Breadbag was issued to German soldiers during the Second World War. It consisted of one main compartment which contained the solders rations of a soldier, but had left over space for additional personnel items. The bread bag came with an adjustable strap attached to D-rings on the backside, but could easily be unclipped and the bag could be worn on the solders belt by using the button tabs. The bag also had D-rings and leather tabs on the front for attaching equipment such as a canteen or mess tin. The bag flap is fastened with 2 leather straps which have 2 buttonholes, the inside of the bag contained 1 leather strap with 3 buttonholes to allow for different capacity of items carried. General items that could be stored include a bread tin, cleaning Kit chocolate ration, cutlery, fat container/dish, field cap, field goggles, Esbit folding stove, soap, sewing kit, spare socks, toothbrush, and a towel.

This is a M31 bread bag, a reproduction based on the version used in World War 2. It is quality made of canvas with white stitching, has leather fasteners, metal buttons and D rings. It is detailed with a makers stamp, and comes with an adjustable carry sling.

Use during re-enactments, fancy dress, as a prop for films and TV, fancy dress, or add to your militaria collection as a great display item.
