M15 German Stick Grenade - Dummy Replica

Stock Status: Out Stock

The stick grenade was introduced in 1915 and the design developed throughout World War I. A friction igniter was used; this method was uncommon in other countries, but widely used for German grenades. The first stick grenades featured a permanently revealed pull cord which came out from the handle near the bottom (rather than tucked inside the removable screw-capped base). The very distinctive appearance led to its being called a 'Kartoffelstampfer', "stick grenade", or a "potato masher" in British Army slang, and is today one of the most easily recognized infantry weapons of the 20th century.

This is a M1915 German stick grenade replica, based on the type used in WWI. It is quality made of machined wood construction, with a metal belt hook. It is painted with a aged battle worn finish, detailed with "Vor Gebrauch Sprengkapsel einsetzen" on the front, and SKD 9.7.15 on the top. The handle features real wood gain, with a smooth finish, and has a machined hole in the base. It is a completely non-functioning dummy grenade, does not contain working parts, a fuse, pull cord, and does not dismantle. May have slight signs of wear on depending on stock.
